What is this event about?
This is a RUNNING event, suitable for kids between 3-12 years old.

Who’s eligible to sign-up for the event?
Children aged between 3-6 yrs old can only sign-up for the ‘Sunshine Orange Chase’ category. However, they must have an accompanying parent to complete the race with.

Children aged between 7-9 yrs old can sign up for either the competitive ‘Boogey Blue Dash’ or the ‘Sporty Red Chase’ fun run.
Children aged between 10-12yrs old can sign up for either the competitive ‘Speedy Purple Dash’ or the ‘Happy Green Chase’ fun run.

Can you explain more about the Schools Challenge?
This is an additional award that will be given to the Top 3 schools with the biggest contingent of students participating in the race. Endorsement or approval from your school will not be required; you just have to enter your School Name in the registration form.

My child is only 3 years old, I’m not sure if he/she can finish the entire race without assistance. How can I help him/her?
The accompanying parent for kids between 3-6yrs is allowed to render assistance to his/her child. Eg. Hold your child’s hand and race to the finishing line, Carry your child & run across the finish line etc.

Though my child is above 6 years old, can I still run with him/her?
No, children (7-12yrs) are to complete the race on hi/her own. Parents/Supporters can cheer for the participant at the side of the race course.

RACE EXPO

What is the Race Expo?
The race expo is where all registered participants need to go to collect their race entry pack which consist of the number tag for the child who is taking part in the event, his/her event t-shirt, the wrist tag for the participant’s parent for identification on the event day and sponsors’ goodies.
The race expo will be held on 24 - 25 May 08 from 11am to 8pm at United Square. The confirmation slip & identification details of the participant will be required when collecting the entry pack at the race expo.

What is the attire for the race?
Eg. Do the participant need to don the event t-shirt?
Sports/Running attire is encouraged. (Sports shoe is compulsory).Participants do not have to wear the event t-shirt when compete in the race but are encouraged to do so.

How can I find my child when they finish their race?
There will be a large holding area for all Finishers. Parents can wait to pick-up their child at the Parents Holding Area (located next to the Finishers’ Holding Area). All parents will be issued a wrist tag that shows the same Race Tag No. as your child.

If I lose my child in the crowd, how can I find him/her?
There will be an Information Counter and a Lost & Found Corner at the race site. Any missing child will be brought to the Lost & Found Corner to wait for their parents to pick them up.

SAFETY & MEDICAL

Will participants be running on the Pedestrian pavement or on the Road? How safe is the Race Course for the young?
Due to the large number of participants, the race course will be located on the Road (not the footpaths). The roads will be closed from motor vehicles during the event. Auxiliary Police Officers, Road Marshals, Barricades will be placed along the entire race route to ensure safety to all participants.

Will there be marshals along the race route?
Marshals will be deployed at every 40m interval. There will also be roving marshals along the race route to pick up kids who are injured or lost along the race course.

Will there be Medical / First Aid Posts along the race route?
First aid posts will be located at every 200m interval. There will also be roving first aid teams along the race route to render medical assistance. A Medical post can also be found at the race site.

What happens if it rains?
In the event of bad weather, the race shall be delayed. However, should the bad weather persists, the Organiser reserved the right to cancel the race.

Will there be Water Points along the race route?
Water points are available at the carnival area on The Padang. As the run is a short distance and to avoid unnecessary congestion, there will not be any water points along the route.

Will there be briefings conducted for the children and/or parent before the race?
There will be announcements at the Start Point to inform the various categories to form up at the Start Line prior to their category flag-off. The emcee will also provide any additional instructions or information to the participants before the start of the race. Information such as event day details and programme will be made available at the Race Expo as well as the event website: www.kidsrun.com.sg nearer to the event date.

ENTITLEMENTS / REWARDS

What will my child get for participating in the race?
Each participant will be given a Finisher Medal, a Finisher Certificate, a Event T-shirt and a Goodie Bag for participating in the event.
Drinks will be offered to all participants after the race.
Top 3 winners of the competitive categories (only) will be awarded with a prize.

If my child fails to finish the race, is he/she still entitled to the Finisher Medal and Certificate?
In the unlikely event that your child failed to complete the race, the Organiser will consider the provision of these entitlements on a case by case basis.

Will the accompanying parent be given the Runner’s Entitlements?
Accompanying parents will not be given the Runner’s Entitlements. The entitlements are to reward the children who participated in the first-ever ‘kids-only’ running event.

CANCELLATION

Can I get a refund if my child falls ill on the race day and is unable to participate?
No, there will be no refund of registration fee in the event that a participant fails to turn up on the race day.

MISCELLANEOUS

Are there other activities lined up for the children after their run?
Yes, there will be a carnival at the race site for the entire family to have an enjoyable Sunday morning at The Padang.

Will there is a Baggage Counter for us to deposit our baggage?
There will not be a baggage counter at the race site. Please keep all baggage & valuables with you.

If my child has won one of the Top 3 prizes but fails to receive the prize on stage, how can we collect the prize thereafter?
